Thomas Edison Wasn’t So Bright After All

Thomas Edison didn't invent the light bulb. The light bulb actually goes all the way back to 1806.

Fact Checked Human Written Verified Sources Regularly Updated

We all know that the light bulb was created by Thomas Edison in 1879, don’t we?

So what if I told you he didn’t invent it, the light bulb actually goes all the way back to 1806.

An Englishman called Humphrey Davy demonstrated an electric lamp to the Royal Society that year.

This lamp created a blinding electric spark between two charcoal rods.

The light is similar to a welding torch tight, which was far too bright to be used in homes and businesses.

The device also needed a high source of power, which drained the batteries extremely quickly.

Well done Thomas Edison for making the normal powered light bulb, but he doesn’t get full credit for being the inventor.
